Letter from Iowa: Black mob violence and black on white crime in the heartland.

I’ve been telling people that black mob violence is overwhelming Iowa. My first brush with it was “Beat Whitey Night at the Iowa State Fair.”
Now comes this letter from Des Moines.
Colin,
I read your piece on the white fisherman who was beaten by the black mob in Des Moines. (See it here.)
I’m from Des Moines and was visiting when this happened. The last time I visited, a black mob ran through the Iowa State Fair, beating white people, shouting that it was Beat Whitey Night. Let me tell you how weird it is to have racial violence like that happen in sleepy Des Moines. I grew up in Des Moines in the 1960s and 1970s, when it was all white. Of course, there was no racial violence. I went to Lincoln High, where there were only a handful of black kids out of 2300 students. Now, Lincoln is 10+% black and they have racial violence in the halls.
I was originally from Peoria, IL, where my extended family remains. There was always a black ghetto in Peoria. That’s where Richard Pryor came from. It has steadily grown, mostly because of black people fleeing the hell of south side Chicago, only to create their own south side Chicago in Peoria. It’s only a three hour drive from Chicago to Peoria.
I read once where the Cabrini-Green housing project in Chicago was built for the working poor. In the beginning, it was 95% working poor, 5% welfare. Over twenty years, it flipped so that it was 95% welfare. Black mothers on welfare in Cabrini-Green had an average of 7 children, with a sprinkling of women with 12 kids. Who can afford to have seven kids these days unless the government is paying for it? The government is breeding welfare dependents.
It seems as if the dysfunctional welfare population of the black Chicago ghetto overflowed and hit the road, heading for the big cities. I don’t see any black people in the small towns of Illinois. Milwaukee appears to be the first, having long established a Chicago colony. Peoria has become a Chicago colony. These racist incidents in Des Moines are the first indications of a Chicago colony being established there. My teacher friends in Des Moines tell me their black kids are from Chicago but the problem is that they bring Chicago with them.
What I just realized over the last year is that Chicago’s problems aren’t Chicago’s problems alone. They are the entire region’s problems. Chicago is like a black welfare Chernobyl, spewing the poisonous welfare culture to all the cities within a day’s drive.
As long as the federal government supports this propagation of the welfare culture, ordinary people are powerless to resist it. If you stick out the black welfare invasion of your neighborhood, you end up an old person in a dangerous, hostile, crime-ridden neighborhood with a house nobody will buy, afraid to venture into the street. The police can’t or won’t help you. When my uncle asked a local cop what he could do to prevent the vandalism to his property, the cop told him to leave Peoria. It was going to get worse, not better.
You will lose, one way or another, if you fight the degeneration of the neighborhood. The fact is that the federal government supports the welfare ghetto culture with tens of billions of dollars. The ordinary guy is overmatched by that support of the black welfare culture. The only answer seems to be to establish your home out in the suburbs, far from the city.
My point is that the black racial violence is a symptom of a bigger problem of wrongheaded welfare programs by the federal government.
Of course, I’ve read WGBAL, Colin! I bought it for my girlfriend, too. I’m one of your book promoters.
It took me a lifetime of seeing the facts right in front of my face to figure out the larger pattern. My nose was too close to the trees to see the forest.
It started to dawn on me when I read the Des Moines Register story about the State Fair race riot and they professed to be puzzled about the motive, while laying out all the details.
I wonder if the writers are being hindered by political correctness from spelling it out and write their stories so that they lead you in the right direction, leaving you to take the last step to the obvious conclusion. I suspect that’s what they are doing when they leave race out of their online stories about black on white violence, but include video that shows all black perpetrators.
Go take a look at north Omaha. 90% of the homicides in Nebraska are perpetrated there, in the black neighborhood. It boasts something like a 37 per 100K homicide rate in the black neighborhood, higher than south Chicago which is something like 34. I just stumbled across that a few months ago.
North Omaha has the highest homicide rate in the country. Omaha! Colin, I’ve been to Omaha several times. It is the capital of narcolepsy, at least the downtown.
I wonder if there are other Chicagos in the country, spreading the worst culture all around.
You should go talk to high school teachers in Des Moines for background.
I went back to Peoria last year and was driving around with my uncle. We stopped in front of my old house from 8th grade and I took a photo of it. It’s an old neighborhood full of ranch homes. The current owner came flying down the driveway, demanding to know why I was taking a photo of his house. I told him and he relaxed. We chatted.
He told me that while he was working in his garage, a black neighbor kid walked in, stuck a gun in his face, and demanded his wallet. He was a high school kid with a younger kid at the end of the driveway as lookout. The cops caught them a few minutes later, took them to the station, and kicked them loose a few hours later. Six months later, the same kids returned to do the same thing with the same results.
The neighborhood was all white when I lived there. The first black family moved in before I left. Now, it’s half black and you have to pack a gun to your own garage to defend against the neighbor kids. It took 45 years to flip from perfectly safe to dangerous.
