Letter from Virginia.
Hi Colin.
Before moving from California I would never have believed all of the crap that is going on, well I would have found it difficult to believe anyway.
But after living in Virginia, I am a believer!
I never could have imagined an entire community who bully and brutalize yet flip flop and play the victim. I was horrified upon (quickly) finding out that they not only think this way but have all the support necessary to do so.
It is a horrible realization to find that there is no justice for you, based on the color of your skin. And that doing the right thing, abiding by the law etc. is frowned upon.
Living in an all-black neighborhood, I am called names; people yell racial slurs at me when I walk out my door. Upon calling the police one night I was shocked to have a potbellied black officer screaming at me for living here, and telling me to “Look around!” and “You Don’t belong!”
I complained to his Sgt. and the local PD Lt. But they were not surprised and, predictably, they would not consider it a hate crime. Same went for my neighbors who were calling me racist names. But I don’t give up as easy as some around here do, that’s just not me!
I finally got them to address the issue with my racist neighbors and they now shut the hell up when I am outside my home. No, I don’t feel safe here by any means, but in having a big city background and having once been a security guard, I won’t go down easily. I feel like if they are going to get me they will get me. I cannot live in fear, and I will never have to worry about having any false sense of security. People are killed in places where it never happens because they feel so safe they leave their doors unlocked. I will never leave anything unlocked or without an alarm.
My kids are grown up and live out of state, which is good because there is NO WAY I would raise children in this environment.
I often wonder if America has lost its mind. Being an optimistic Hippie I tend to think that people will come to their senses, only to be let down over and over again.
I grew up in the Bay Area so I have always believed in justice and everyone’s rights. But I cannot get on board with the current plan for Black exemption from the law, and redistribution of wealth.
Many days I wonder to myself “How stupid are some people” and “What is going on!”
Time was I felt like, in talking to people I could change some minds; help them to see equality, diversity and injustice. But this; Blacks taking over and killing people, then blaming whites stuff should never have taken off like it has.
I have gotten long winded, but remember that it is always darkest before the dawn. And things have to hit rock bottom. I hope we are there soon.
The reason why I believe this is that without handing it to them and stepping back, as many of us have. they will never see it. They want to blame white people, but now they seem more in charge than ever so how is that possible?
America has to be getting tired of it! And the fact that even some of their own people are turning on them helps me to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
You see the problem with the blatant lying that people who do NOT value education is, that it all falls apart as they cannot pull it off and don’t know why.
Americans are resilient, and no one likes to be lied to. So letting them lie then when the truth comes out is why Obama is the most hated president, and I was afraid no one would ever see that.
Showing their true colors (or their asses) and exposing the truth is the only way things are ever going to change. So keep doing what you are doing, and eventually the undeniable proof will prevail. Then we can watch them squirm because blacks will never be able to go back to that complete/total victimhood and white shaming comfort they once enjoyed.
Placing no value on education will be to their detriment as their numbers grow, and they use physical violence. They can and will be outsmarted. And will likely do it to themselves.
So keep it up! Let’s continue to fight the good fight! We will not be alone, because the tide is already turning.
Here is the problem when you demand attention, you get it!
Though many of us will never get over what blacks have tried to do, and we may never learn to live together in peace and harmony, the change is coming. And we can’t go back, so look ahead.
We shall overcome!
