In 1985, When I was 22, I got my first CPA job in downtown Pittsburgh. Flying high, I worked my ass off and parked at 3 Rivers Stadium for about $1.50 a day. I was a real professional, with a very rural upbringing.
One Winter night I went to the ATM at 7:00 in the evening. My friend and I walked over the 6th Street bridge. Three of the Fellas were coming the other way. My friend was hit in the head with a metal pipe and he went down like a ton of bricks. I fought with the other 2 through Roberto Clemente Park. Unfortunately I had on a big coat and dress shoes. And one of the guys had a metal rod he repeatedly used to hit me in the head. I ended up giving them $70.
I walked up to my friend and he had a bump on his head the size of a lime. They robbed him of his $$, his watch and his dignity. They were all laughing.
So what? I wasn’t killed. But I can tell you for sure that I will never look at the Fellas in the same way again. I am ready and prepared to fight. I am on a hair trigger, and I hate that feeling.
I live in Atlanta now. It is just as bad.
As far as I am concerned, all we can do now is prepare for the worst. The “bleeding heart” liberals have won the game. Having a good life has been redefined in America.
