Letter from Pittsburgh.
Dear Colin,
I have sent you news updates several times within the last several months for your Don`t Make the Black Kids Angry project and enjoy following your videos on YouTube.
However, this one is a personal story that happened in my town last week.
A black male was assaulting a white woman who had a baby in a stroller in the middle of a public street. The man appeared to be either drunk or under the influence of drugs. This was witnessed by myself and 4 other people.
911 was called and police assistance was requested.
The officer responded within several minutes, rolled down the window of his patrol car and told them to cease their “argument” and drove off !!!
However, after the police car went around the corner, the black male continued his physical assault on the woman and the baby in the stroller was jerked around violently in the street with on-coming traffic.
911 was AGAIN called and police assistance was demanded, as the situation was escalating and an infant’s safety was in danger.
The second officer got out of his car, went over to the woman, put the woman in the back of the police car and allowed the PERP to continue on his way with the baby in the stroller!!!
I called the police station about an hour later to follow up on this issue and was told that there was nothing they could do. Unbelievable, right ?
No charges were brought against the man, despite 5 eyewitnesses and concerns for the safety of an infant. Makes me furious! This happened in western Pa. ( A suburb of Pittsburgh ) on July 2, 2015.
