Victim shoots attacker in Knockout Game.

The newspaper in Lansing came so close to getting it right: An intended victim of the Knockout Game shot his attacker. So far so good.

This version of the game had a twist: Instead of punching the victim in the face, the predator used a taser  — a KL-800 Type Stun Gun capable of generating 1.8 million volts.

The assailants had scouted the site, the victim and even practiced firing the taser. But then it all went wrong. Or right.

When Marvell Weaver jammed the taser into the ribs of the still unidentified man and pulled the trigger, it jammed. The target pulled out his .40 caliber Smith and Wesson and shot  Weaver as he tried to escape to the getaway van where two of his accomplices waited.

According to MLive.com:

 Weaver ran, sat down across the street, his leg going numb, bleeding. Pleading.

“‘I’m sorry, please don’t kill me, I don’t know why I did that, I’m high you know, I just wanna go home,’” the teen told the man who had just shot him.

He lived. This happened in May, while the intended victim was picking up his child at a school bus stop. The story came out this week.

According to MLive:

The teen was hospitalized with a non-life threatening injury. At first, Weaver said he merely removed the stun gun from his pocket to look at it and the man shot him. He later confessed to the attack, records show.”

Mlive.com took pains to put the attack in context, citing this statistic and that trend, but in the end, it pronounced the crime “random.”

That caught the attention of MLive.com readers and others throughout the country familiar with the Knockout Game as it is played hundreds of times in St. Louis, Champaign, Chicago and dozens of other cities around the country. Said a reader:

The “game” is not random. It is a very racially charged “game” with very strong criteria for “target” selection.

There are many, many reasons for “target” selection beyond “than they are there.” There is the inherent hatred of the participants along with their boredom and restlessness, accompanied by a “they got and I don’t, so what does it matter if I hurt them” mentality.

In St. Louis alone, a judge said one person was responsible for 300 episodes of the Knockout Game. In Oklahoma, an accused killer of the Australian college student Chris Lane tweeted that he was “playing golf” and hitting “woods” prior to the murder earlier this month. Woods is short for “peckerwoods:” White people. The Knockout Game.

He said he did that five times since the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the death of Trayvon Martin.

In St. Cloud, Minnesota, a car full of black people came upon a college student in an alley walking two girls home from the library. The car screeched to a stop, one man got out, and hit 20-year old Colton Gleason in the face. He died.

This week, Jesse Smithers told the court the attack was in self defense: Gleason and the two girls attacked his car.

In Chicago, two black people played the Knockout Game with a father of 11. He died last year.

In St. Louis last year, the Mayor came upon the remnants of a Knockout Game when he found a badly beaten and bloody Matthew Quan in the gutter. Knocked Out. As he stopped his car, the black people sauntered away, laughing.

One of the assailants was arrested but the charges were dropped after a witness disappeared. The mayor said she was threatened.

The accused assailant died earlier this year when he was shot while breaking into someone’s house. He was 15. His grandfather said he was a good boy and this was another case similar to Trayvon Martin: a black person shot for no reason whatsoever.

In St. Louis earlier this year, a black person was sentenced to life for the Knockout Game death of a 72-year old Vietnamese immigrant.

The list goes on and on. Mlive.com says this kind of evidence is “anecdotal.”

But anyone looking at the hundreds and hundreds of anecdotes knows this: The victims can be white. Or Asian. Or women. Or homosexual. But this much they have in common: All of attackers in the Knockout Game are black.

But MLive.com wanted no part of that uncomfortable truth. Neither did some of its readers. “Please don’t tell me you’re bring the race card into play,” said one. Other said that perhaps Weaver could have taken the victim’s gun and done even more damage.

Whatever the merits of ignoring the intensity and frequency and racial angle of this crime, some gun owners were happy with the story nevertheless.

“MLive is great on firearms issues and crime coverage,” said Barry Shickinger. “And as a disclosure, I’m the executive director of the Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners -Michigan’s largest state-based gun group and ally with the National Rifle Association.”

While the people of Lansing try to sort out the best way to protect themselves, the prosecutor is trying to figure out how to charge Weaver.

Weaver’s two accomplices — the ones who drove him and helped him scout the victim and watched the attack — were not charged. And some in Lansing worry Weaver may get off easy as well.

Because the intended victim was not harmed, and there was “no evidence” Weaver wanted to rob him, she will not charge him with robbery or aggravated assault. The plea bargain conference is set for next month.

Weaver is sorry, he told the victim in a letter:

“I don’t blame you for what you did. You were only trying to protect yourself. I only wish I could go back to change it to were (sic) I never did it. .. Im very sorry.”

This is the worst video of black mob violence you will see today. Maybe ever: Four black children beat and taunt a three-year old white girl. Then the cameraman posted it on Facebook over the weekend with the heading, “When white people piss black people off.”

The video begins in the middle of a street in Minneapolis. Two black girls, twice as old and twice as big as the white girl, are screaming at the girl on a Hot Wheels tricycle.

“Stop spying on us,” shouts one. “You ugly.”

Then the violence begins: The two girls each grab one of the white girl’s wrists and force her to strike herself in the face. Several times. The white girl starts crying like only three-year old girls can.

“Why you hitting yourself?” asks the 12-year old cameraman. The girls doing the beating think that is funny. They continue striking her as he moves the camera away.  “Shut up, man,” he scolds the white girl.

When the camera returns a few seconds later, the little girl is still crying, still surrounded by her two assailants. Enter a black boy about ten years old. “Watch me beat up this little kid,” he says.

But before that happens, the black children run away, leaving the little girl crying in the middle of the street, still seated in her Hot Wheels tricycle.

The cameraman — identified as 12-year old Ray Wright — remained, taking more video.

The kids wander around ten yards away, ignoring the little girl, still in the street. The black boy who just threatened to beat her up enters the camera again, this time begging, “Can I see the video?”

After a cut in the action, the video picks up with the little white girl now standing on the lawn. The two black girls approach, with one instructing the other: “Hit her hard. Hit her in the head like this.”

And she does.

They then take something from the little white girl — maybe a balloon —  and at the urging of the cameraman to “throw it on the ground,” they do just that.

That was a source of amusement to the two girls and the cameraman. When the little girl sat on the ground to retrieve the object, the two black girls started hitting her again. This time piling on. More crying.

The scene ends with the cameraman directing the action: “stop y’all.” Soon it was on Facebook, with the heading “When white people piss black people off.”

Then it started getting crazy.

It did not take long for the video to spread, generating some unwanted attention on the cameraman. He directed his ire at a Facebook friend he accused of “snitching.”

“I (am going) to jail,” he wrote on his now deleted Facebook account, captured at PatDollard.com.  “Somebody snitched. I’m (going) to kill them.”

Then he goes back and forth with someone he thinks is a snitch, and they threaten to send “hitters” to kill each other.

The video raises more questions than answers. No one knows who the little girl is. Or how her parents could leave her in such a dangerous and unsupervised situation. Or the identity of the parents of all the children.

Thousands of people at MrConservative.com and PatDollard.com want to know how this could happen.

The intrepid investigators at PatDollard.com found the mother of the cameraman, Ranika Wills, on the phone. She did not have many answers other than to say kids always fight. And she wondered why the reporter did not call George Zimmerman and ask him those questions.

Zimmerman, of course, is the man who was recently acquitted in the death of Trayvon Martin.

The mother claims the video was posted under a fake name. But she never denied it was her son. She also denied her son was holding a loaded gun in a picture on his Facebook page.

After telling the mother of the building outrage on the internet from people who saw the video, the mother said not to worry: “Its not like they fucked that little girl up,” she said. “She’s fine.”

“It’s a joke, he’s just a kid,” said the mother.

“What I seen was two little girls hitting her,” said Ranika. “That’s just what little girls do.”

“I dealt with the kids,” she said. “But kids fight. Know that.”

The mother reserved her ire not for the assailants, but for the child her son threatened to kill on Facebook: “She is the one who put my phone number on Facebook. She is the one causing this problem.”

A Chicago police officer is hospitalized in serious condition with a fractured skull, a victim of black mob violence.

The officer was responding to a call early Saturday morning when he found dozens of people in the street, creating mayhem. He immediately called for back up, but instead of waiting for reinforcements, went to the assistance of a woman under attack.

Some members of the mob turned on him: He was attacked by at least one person — struck on the head with the bat.  “No one tried to help him or stop the attack,” said one Chicago police officer. “That happens a lot: Mob violence. No assistance. If anything, most of the people are either participating or encouraging the violence. ”

What the stories also do not report is more important, say two Chicago police officers. The crowd was black, also missing from all the news reports.

“Maybe the paper did not know,” said one of the officers. “Or maybe they did not think it was important to note that fact because it happens all the time. Or maybe, as usual, Chicago media does an awful job of reporting racial violence. Never reporting it because they think that would be racist.”

If the police on the beat are restrained from talking about the incident in public, the police blog Second City Cop is not. The blog marveled at the naivetee of the Chicago Tribune: “It’s not clear if the officer was hit on purpose or was accidentally while trying to break up the fight.”

On purpose or accidentally? We’re going to go out on a limb and say if someone is wandering around Englewood with a bat, at one in the morning, they’re not looking for Rahm’s Midnight Softball Leagues.

They’re looking to beat someone and it doesn’t matter who gets in the way. We charge people who shoot, maim and kill victims, regardless of who the intended target was.

Also missing from the story is context: “The story does not report that black mob violence against police in black neighborhoods is a regular and intense and dangerous situation,” said one of the officers. “That happens a lot. When we ride through the neighborhood, we are often greeted by black people pointing their index fingers at us as if they were shooting a gun. They shout: CCK. CCK. Chicago Cop Killer. Some have that tattooed on them.”

Some of the violence against police is on video: As were the black mob attacks on police that followed a police shooting earlier this year. Two officers were chasing a car of five suspected truck hijackers when they crashed. Four got away. One remained and was fighting with one officer, then advancing on another when he was shot and killed.

Soon after, a crowd gathered, with several people saying the black man was shot for no reason and the cops were killers.  The mob grew to the hundreds, and soon they were yelling profanities at the police, complaining of police brutality. They also threw “bottles, bricks and rocks,” said the Chicago Tribune.

Jamal Moore, the dead man, had a long history of trouble with the law, including a 2006 arrest and conviction for armed robbery.

“Fuck the police,” said one protestor on a seven-minute video of the disturbance. “They can’t do shit if we start a riot right now.”

Several days after the riot, Revolution News reported that a flyer urging more violent action against the police was distributed in Chicago neighborhoods.

Jamaal had  “put aside all of his youthful habits and was getting things together so he could take care of his 4-month-old son,” said Revolution News.

When Jamaal’s mother asked the police what was going on, one cop told her “Another n*gger dead.”

This, in a nutshell, is the racist and genocidal program these enforcers carry out for the system. The cops taunted the crowd with this shit and the people erupted with righteous anger right in the cops’ faces.

People were shouting, “We’re tired of this. We’re tired of them shooting down our kids.” And “fuck the police!” In the face of the guns and clubs, the people defiantly fought back.

Despite the dozens of cell phone cameras capturing the action, not one captured  a recording of police using racial epithets.

Nevertheless, Revolution Newspaper said Moore was really a victim, not the violent predator police would have us believe he is.

“It is the workings of the capitalist-imperialist SYSTEM that produces killer cops and the mass incarceration of a whole generation of Black and Latino youth—over 2.4 million in prison,” said the paper. “We need a revolution to end once and for all the brutal, vicious oppression of Black people.”

People who depend on local TV and newspapers are largely ignorant of the violence and racial slurs directed at white police officers on a regular basis, they say.

“But no politician in Chicago will say anything about that, other than to say the people who were fighting with baseball bats need jobs, and that is why they are violent,” said one of the officers. “That is what happened last month at the Urban Violence Summit in Chicago with members of the Congressional Black Caucus.”

The summit, broadcast nationwide on CSPAN, featured little talk about violence, and lots of talk about racism and how unemployment are the real problems.

“People have no idea what is happening out there,” both cops agreed. “And how it is going from bad to worse.”
