Archives For black mobs

Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful … and black.

Jakiyah McKoy had everything it took to win the Little Miss Hispanic Delaware crown. But two things kept her from keeping it: One, she was black. Two, she was undocumented.

Now a racial firestorm is swirling around the seven-year McKoy, with black activists from around the country saying pageant officials are racist from stripping the crown from McKoy two weeks ago.

There’s even a nation-wide, on-line petition at Change.org, “demanding Jakiyah McKoy keep her rightfully won crown, because her beauty represents us all.”

That is hardly the story we heard from the El Tiempo Hispano shortly after the pageant. “There was uproar when the winner was announced because, according to the public, she was not the best representative of a Latin beauty.”

Tiffany Ayala is one of the mothers who brought McKoy’s alleged ethnic deficiency to the attention of the judges. ““If you’re not Hispanic, you can’t join it,” Ayala told the Wilmington News Journal. “Just like I’m not going to put my daughter in the Little Miss Ebony Queen.”

Ayala’s daughter was the first runner-up who became Little Miss Hispanic Delaware after McKoy lost the top spot — and the $500 prize money, awarded at the end of the year.

The controversy centers around how some people confuse race and ethnicity. Hispanic is a term that represents people whose ancestors come from Spanish-speaking counties. Many Hispanics are of African descent, as is Jakiyah McKoy.

At least that is what her parents say: That her grandmother was from the Dominican Republic. But they did not have the papers to prove she was Hispanic.

Daniel Jose Older started the petition at Change.org to restore McKoy’s crown. He told the Wilmington News Journal: “There is just like a baseline of disrespect to black women. As Latinos, it’s really important that we understand what’s going on with us and that we reclaim this girl as our sister. This is our sister, and she is being unfairly excluded.”

City Councilwoman Maria Cabrera is the media’s go-to person for Hispanic issues in Wilmington. She attended the pageant, which she ran for several  years.

Cabrera said she agrees with the decision to disquality McKoy, but regrets that it “divides African-Americans and Hispanics.”

As is often the case surrounding racer-based activities  “Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that Hispanics are demanding documentation for participation?,” asked David Lutes at Delawareonline.com.

“I hope every adult that was associated with this race/ethnicity based pageant is proud of themselves,” said Polly Lucas at Delawareonline.com “Thanks to you, every one of these innocent American young ladies was introduced to the ugliness of race politics. Lets not even delve into the hypocrisy of the “documentation” requirement.”

Ayala was not deterred: “I am very proud of myself and yes you are welcome since two of my daughters participated in this pageant and now know that many people lie about their heritage and try to say they Spanish when they’re not. My daughters know where their (sic) from the day they was born. Viva MEXICO.”

Many of the on-line comments in and out of Delaware wondered if race-based pageants are an idea whose time has passed.

But not everyone: Valerye Jones said white people already have pageants that reinforce white ideals of beauty. “Hmph, there’s already Miss Teen USA, Miss America, Miss Universe, Miss (insert name of a state), Jr. Miss “this” and Jr. Miss “that”! There’s plenty of Anglo representation…simply pick one!”

New: Black mob violence in Rochester: lots of it.

Here is a video of the suspects in some black mob violence in Rochester.

Lots of it. For a long time. Tons of videos below. A preview of an upcoming story:

Preview of an article:

City councilman Adam McFadden has to be wondering why so many people are still so puzzled at the frequent and intense black mob violence in Rochester

McFadden explained it all to us just two years ago.

The city of Rochester had just closed a park because of mob of 200 black people started fighting and destroying property at a local beach during a Memorial Day Rib Festival. Thirteen black people were arrested. At least one police officer was hurt.

The local ABC affiliate reeled off the names of other parts of town where mob violence was now a regular feature of life. Including the popular downtown Liberty Pole.

Per usual, no one in the media said everyone involved in the mayhem was black.

McFadden to the rescue:

“I think what you saw at the beach is what we’ve been seeing in many of our neighborhoods for two decades,” black) Councilman McFadden told WHAM TV. “It’s just that you had a lot of people there who are not used to that culture and got to witness it personally.”

Top Black Mob Videos #32: Rochester

Two years later, it is back. Or, as most locals say, the racial violence never went away.

The latest “large fight” happened in the last week of September. Councilman McFadden was downtown when “he intervened after encountering a large crowd of kids fighting one another and running away from police,” said the Democrat and Chronicle. “The Liberty Pole is the site of regular fights and disorder, particularly before and after school is in session.”

This fight was a bit different. Someone fired a gun. The police report described the chief suspect as a “male black, wearing a blue hoodie with a turquoise hood.”

The newspaper repeated the description except it left out one detail: The suspect was black.

The school describes the violence as “inappropriate behavior.” The local NBC station said all the students cause “chaos.”

But a police surveillance video backs up what the residents are saying on the web sites: Everyone involved is black.

“Wary people avoid the Liberty Pole during the school year,” said Rochester resident Charlie Yanaitis. “There’s been problems for years at the Liberty Pole during the school year as it’s the main transfer point for school kids in downtown Rochester. It’s mostly black on black violence there.”

The list of places that people should avoid if they wish to avoid black mob violence in Rochester is long and getting longer.

The annual Lilac Festival the week before Memorial Day is also the site of regular black mob violence. By the time it was over this year, 200 people were arrested and four people were stabbed. A man with a shotgun escaped and two police officers were hurt.

Two months prior to the festival, the police chief sent potential criminals a letter, saying he was watching them and they’d better start behaving.

“We care about you as individuals, as well as all citizens in the City of Rochester, who deserve to live freely without the threat of gun violence,” said Chief James Sheppard. “This is our new way of doing business and I thought it was important to let you know. Please go tell your friends.”

Six weeks later, prior to the fair, local media was reporting “increased violence in the city over the past 10 days.”

At first city officials downplayed the chaos, saying there was no violence inside the fair itself. That fiction did not last long as one person after another came forward to tell their story in the comments section of the Democrat and Chronicle.

Rob Sands was just one of several to contradict official attempts to downplay the violence: “The Monroe County parks director said no fights occurred within the festival site itself. That is a straight up lie.”

Local reporters do not – or will not – report what many readers know: “Let’s face it, this is a racial problem,” said Ann Marie Cummings in the comment section of the Democrat and Chronicle. “Whether it is the Puerto Rican fest, last year at the rib fest, or problems at sea breeze with gangs. It’s obvious these street thugs pick arenas … large amount of people attending.”

Joe Baxton took to the comments to report another episode of black mob violence earlier that day:

“About a half hour ago, I was on my way home from lunch. I was stopped at a light in front of the county jail where the prisoner release door is. And there erupted a huge fight between 50 black (people). They ran across the street, stopped traffic dead and continued to fight on the side walk across from the jail. I betting this is a continuation of the nonsense which occurred at the Lilac Festival. The ones arrested must have been released and this group of black (people) was waiting for them to continue the fight. What on earth is going on in my city? I have never seen anything like this in my entire life.”

Sometimes black mobs in Rochester like some variety. So in September, 400 to 500 black people from Rochester took public transportation to a mall in neighboring Irondequoit. Soon after, police closed down a movie theater after 400 to 500 black people started fighting inside and outside a showing of the movie Insidious, Chapter 2.

“I saw police officers chasing kids, as we were pulling out of the parking lot to leave we saw police officer knock kids to the ground and one police officer was batoning kids,” said Alton Johnson to Rochester YNN.

Lt. Jonna Izzo explained it all to News 8: “They have pent up energy from being scared in the movie theater and they come out and they don’t know what to do with that energy.”

Lt. Izzo has obviously never talked with Councilman McFadden.

Some residents said it was strange that anyone could blame a large scale act of violence and mayhem on a movie. Other said it had nothing to with the movie: That mall and others in Irondequoit have been plagued by black mob violence for years:

“So it’s not the first time and won’t be the last !!,” said David Sevor at the web site for WHAM TV news. “It’s sad these young teenagers don’t know how to behave out in public.”

Mike Alpaha was more explicit:

It’s been a problem that has been escalating for a long time. White people are the real problem! You’re all too scared to speak up and talk about the real problem!

These young black kids are out of control and have no discipline in the home. They have no respect for anyone (especially white people). But everyone is scared of being called a racist for telling it how it is.

I’m not a racist, but I can say that the inner city black youth are out of control and only getting worse!

Four police departments from neighboring jurisdictions assisted. City officials called the bus company, which responded with extra buses to return the rioters to Rochester.

No one was arrested.

Also in September, a group of more than 20 black people on bicycles surrounded a woman and her teenage son and stole their phone. One witness to the crime told WHAM that was not the first time:

Earlier in the week, her little sister was robbed at the bus station less than one block away from Friday’s reported robbery. Sadiya Curtis said some men on bicycles rolled by on a bike and snatched her phone.

Compared with Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., Detroit, St. Louis, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Greensboro, Newark, and other cities, few would say the level of racial violence in Rochester is worse.

But it is more photographed.

Local reporter Tim Louis Macaluso of the Roc City News was among the first to notice that local shutterbugs are very, very active when large groups of black people start creating mayhem.

They seem to document a Clockwork Orange-like breakdown in civility.

Rochester is known for many things –Kodak, lilacs, Susan B. Anthony, and Frederick Douglass, for starters.

But go to YouTube.com and type in a search for Rochester, NY, and you’ll see that Rochester is popular with viewers for something else: teen fights.

The second group of videos the search will offer is titled “Rochester fights.” Click it and you’ll see about a dozen 2- to 6-minute videos of young Rochester teens, mostly African-American and Hispanic boys, going at it.

We saved you the trouble. A collection, here.

Racism Everywhere. Yes, you too.

FROM AMERICAN THINKER.

BY COLIN FLAHERTY

WhiteGirl_300x250_01

The white liberals at Salon and MSNBC may still be virulent denial about the black mob violence. But many black people are way past that: They don’t deny it, they excuse it. And the biggest and most popular excuse today is racism.

In Chicago earlier this month, a group of black people in a gun fight shot 13 black people on a basketball court. Black violence in Chicago takes other forms as well: Some of it black on white. Some black on Asian. Or black on gay. Or black on young. Or black on old. Black on rich. Black on poor. Black on illegal immigrant. Black on tourist. Black on doctor. Black on lawyer. Black on Indian Chief? I don’t know about that one.

But Black on woman is also popular. So is black on storekeeper. Some violence is individual. Some in a mob.

The reasons for this tsunami of violence are legion — and oft repeated: Family. Poverty. Housing. Education. Do I need to go on?

Ebony Magazine says No.

Its easy to forget how influential Ebony is. “Ebony and Jet have been permanent fixtures on coffee tables in African-American homes for many years,” said Magic Johnson.

Now Joshua Adams, writing in Ebony, wants to flip the script: Even if black people are being convicted of crimes like assault and murder and burglary and selling drugs anywhere from 10 to 20 to 30 to even 40 times more than the rest of the population, Ebony doesn’t want to hear any more talk about black pathology.

It’s much easier to point to Black crime than to interrogate a whole litany of violence against the Black community.

What’s missing in their analysis is any mention of the history of institutionalized attacks on Black people …

There’s no call for accountability towards a prison industrial complex sending Black and Brown folks to jail with longer sentences for equal or lesser crimes than any other race.

No statistics are presented to show the overreporting of Chicago crime or to combat the many misconceptions about Black on Black crime in general in America.

And what’s sadder is if their analysis is that shallow, how could they even begin to discuss, let alone understand, the residuals effects from the sadistic, prolonged assault on our people that was chattel slavery?

Prisons cause crime. So does slavery. To quote the t-shirt: Its a black thing. You wouldn’t understand.

And since most people don’t, Adams has a prescription: “If you aren’t interested in doing anything but pointing in our direction to underscore some sort of racist, classist, blame-skewing point, then keep our city out your mouth.”

I understand now.

The Attorney General likes to flip the script as well. Just a few weeks ago, he gave a speech where he talked about racism. And how black people and white people who commit the same crimes are given different sentences.

The AG forgot to mention about how the biggest racial disparities in court rooms rebound to the benefit of black people. At least the ones who are accused of a crime.

In Baltimore, the Abell Foundation found that black juries were reluctant to convict black people of crimes, compared to other counties in Maryland.

The study found “the probability of convicting an offender of the most serious offense in Baltimore City is .02, in the comparison jurisdictions it is .63.”

In layman’s language, that is 2 percent conviction rate versus 63 percent conviction rate. And it is not just Baltimore. In New York, the racial jury nullification is so common it even has a name: Bronx jury.

At MSNBC, the contributors love to talk about how black people and white people smoke the same amount of marijuana, but black people are arrested four times more often. That is based on a bogus study that does not test people for drugs, it asks if they use drugs or not.

And yes, there are studies on that too. At least two of them. It’s called self-reporting. When you ask about drug usage and then you test to see who is telling the truth, Black people are far more likely to lie about it.

According to the medical journal Addictive Behaviors,

“underreporting of cocaine was documented with urine testing validation as well where African Americans in comparison to Caucasians who were urine positive were about 6 times less likely to report cocaine use when other factors are controlled for.”

Down at Johns Hopkins, they tested self-reporting of marijuana use among African Americans:

“A study of 290 African American men in Baltimore, Maryland undergoing treatment for hypertension showed that self-reporting of illicit drug use is unreliable. Only 48 of the participants reported drug use but urine drug tests revealed that 131 had used drugs. “

We are unable to confirm or deny the Attorney General was one of the subjects in these drug studies. But his recent speeches are just about the closest proof of a positive drug result you can get without testing.

The racist drum beat continues: The University Rochester University recently completed a study that showed more white racists live in the South. Their definition of racist: Someone who believes jobs, contracts, school enrollments and other opportunities should based on merit. Not racial quotas.

The University of Michigan recently did a similar study: Whites are racist. But smarter whites are better at disguising it. “But they are no more likely than lower-ability whites to support open housing laws and are less likely to support school busing and affirmative action programs.”

Even hip hop star Chris Brown is getting in on the act. Brown is best known outside the world of hip hop for his frequent forays into the headlines for beating up his girl friend, hit and run driving, faking his community service, assault on other rappers, and … well, its a long list.

But Chris would like to explain it all to us: Its not his fault. Its all about racism.

The District Attorney? He’s a “racist ass.”

“I got to the point where it’s only so much you can take from the master, you feel me? I’ve taken my fair share of lashings,” he told Jet Magazine. “This generation is so used to racism that it’s normal; we don’t care. We aren’t on drugs or catching AIDS, but they still look at us as n****s.”

Brown compares himself to Trayvon: Both victims of “blatant racism.”

In the meantime, I have one question for the put-upon Mr. Brown: Have you thought about moving to Baltimore?

WhiteGirl_300x250_01a preview of an article at WND.com – with some links below.

Black mob violence and black on white crime has not destroyed the entire American Tobacco Trail. Only the small chunk that goes through Durham, North Carolina.

The high crime part. The gang-infested part. The poor part. The urban part. The part that local media calls every name imaginable except one: The black part.

Otherwise, most of the 22.5 miles of this trail is a safe, sometimes bucolic experience for runners, bikers, strollers even equestrians. As long as they stay away from the trail near Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

Since 2011, dozens of people have been beaten, robbed, pushed off bikes and threatened in that part of the trail. All of the suspects in this violence and mayhem are black.

Though most of the time the local media is loathe to say so. Either refusing to give a description, or doing what WRAL did in the latest attack: The TV station described one of the attackers as having a “dark complexion.”

Two sought in latest American Tobacco Trail attack :: WRAL.com

WSAV: News, Weather, and Sports for Savannah, GA

The most recent assault happened earlier this month. An unknown number of black people sent a 53-year old man to the hospital after robbing him and beating him with a big stick. Other than saying the crime took place on the part of the trail about a mile north of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, police are not giving out much more information.

But there is not much to say that police haven’t said more than 40 times since 2011:

In July a roller blader and a jogger were robbed by a man holding a gun.

Last August, a group of black people beat a jogger at 7:30 p.m. On the trail.

They did not rob him.

“The simple assaults don’t appear to be motivated by robbery,” the Durham Chief of Police told WRAL TV. “It appears to be motivated more by mischievousness and the locations where they find individuals who are clearly running by themselves.”

Police suggest carrying a cell phone and using the trail with others.

This whole ‘fight the mischievous thugs with a cell phone’ thing does not really work for many residents of Durham. Said one user of the WRAL web site:

Again, police advocate carrying a cell phone but not a pistol or even a stout club? What is wrong with them? Are they giving up their firearms? What is the cell phone for? Is that so you have something extra to bargain with the criminal for your life? Unreal.

Sometimes the local media will describe the attackers. Most times not.

“Yeah, great job describing the perp! Could race be involved?” asked one reader at the WRAL site, echoing lots of comments that wonder why the media does not publish a full description, even when the description is available in police reports.

Said another reader: “You forgot to mention that it was ninja who robbed them because apparently no one got a description of him. No one sees a ninja!”

Not all of the crimes are reported to the police. But this biker posted this at IndyWeek.com:

This was my first ride on the ATT.

Having had my ass kicked by a group of teens in NYC, I saw familiar signs of trouble to come as I headed back towards downtown. 5-6 young teens huddled around on a bridge and watched me as I approached, right before Riddle Rd, I believe. As I passed them, one kid threw a fistful of rocks at me, hitting the side of my face. I said “thanks,” since I was sure these guys understood and appreciated sarcasm. Right past them was a large branch on the path, neatly placed to block the entire paved area. I rode over it slowly, just in time for 3 older teens, maybe 18 or so, to approach me, one of whom said something, which I lost in the wind I generated hauling ass towards town.

Not all are even condemned. In November 2011, Lisa Sorg wrote about safety on the American Tobacco Trail for Indyweek.com. She reported her own brush with mayhem.

And in late September, I had to call the police from Mile Marker .25, at the bridge downtown. This was at 5:30 in the afternoon when a guy on a trick bike yells, “Goddamn bitch.” I didn’t answer. So he biked in front of me and continued to accost me, “Hey, Goddamn bitch, why didn’t you answer? Why are you getting all white on me?”

If anyone expected outrage or anger from this urban warrior, they would be disappointed. All they got was resignation:

Now I know it’s impossible for police to surveil the entire trail; from downtown to Southpoint mall it’s essentially a 6.5-mile linear park. And if you choose to travel the trail at night, then don’t complain when you are relieved of your wallet.

Another resident of Durham said we should not be so quick to judge the people accused of the crime. She suspects many of the people attacked did something to provoke the attackers:

There are always two sides to a story. A guy says he’s attacked by some kids and everyone assumes he’s the victim. I’m positive that guy had some part of it.

Let’s not seriously think people are out there praying (sic) on joggers. The guy said the kids threw rocks and tried to trip him? Why was he close enough for them to trip him? Probably because he was trying to confront them about something.”

Others remind people of the more serious, even more violent crime in downtown Durham. Local columnist Cark Kenney says “talks about crime should not be limited to the American Tobacco Trail.” And besides, “When the victims are people living with privilege we talk about it too much. When the victims lack resources we talk about it too little.”

In downtown Durham last summer, a group of black people robbed and assaulted a 53-year old man, putting him in the hospital in critical condition.

This was the second such crime in that area within a month: “The suspects are also four black male teenagers. The victim was also hospitalized and in critical condition,” said the News Observer.

Even so, its the persistent violence at the American Tobacco Trail that gets the attention. Too much of the wrong kind of attention, said one local resident: “This is a pride and joy of the whole city. Our American Tobacco Trail is a wonderful place for families, for diversity, for bikers, walkers of all ages,” she said

Lots of readers were not sure what she meant by saying the trail promotes diversity.

But several did offer advice about how to safe on it: Said Scot34 at WRAL: “if you want to be a target and statistic, walk or run the trail. When will you people learn to defend yourself and solve this problem. These unarmed and unprepared citizens are making this a target rich environment for criminals, thats why it continues to happen.”

WhiteGirl_300x250_01Wow. Getting worse in Minneapolis.

Anyone who reads this blog of my book knows how often I talk about Minneapolis being a scene of intense and frequent racial violence.

It is getting worse.

Here is an article from Minneapolis i just received from a Minneapolis reader.

And oh yeah, I wrote about the downtown crime alert in Minneapolis a few weeks ago …

From the Star Tribune:

Man killed in downtown Mpls. after crime alert issued only to businesses

  • Article by: MATT MCKINNEY , Star Tribune
  • Updated: September 6, 2013 – 12:56 PM

Alert on beatings, robberies went to businesses a week before fatal one but not to public.

  • Eight days before a man was knocked to the ground and killed inMinneapolis, police warned of similar attacks by young robbers in the area, distributing an alert to downtown businesses.

“Warn patrons … have your door monitors be aware …” the alert read, but it never went to the larger public via the Police Department’s crime alert e-mail system.

A more public alarm may not have made a difference for Adrian Hernandez, 44, a salon worker who was trailed by three young men down Hennepin Avenue early on the morning of Aug. 22. They followed him for five blocks. He died Sunday of his injuries suffered in the attack.

With robberies up dramatically over two years in Minneapolis, the crime fit a disturbing pattern that police had seen four times in August: a lone individual, often intoxicated, gets surrounded by three to five young men who then rob and sometimes assault their victims. Wallets and iPhones, which can fetch $200 on the streets, were typically taken. The attacks took place in a strip of downtown bounded by Marquette and 1st Avenues N. Men and women were targeted.

A civilian employee of the Police Department issued an alert to downtown businesses on Aug. 14 but did not issue a more broad “crime alert” to residents and others who subscribe to the service, which would have required the approval of a police inspector or lieutenant.

“Part of that decision was made because the target audience was outside of what we felt would be reached through normal delivery channels,” said Sgt. Bill Palmer, a department spokesman.

The typical downtown crowd includes people who live outside the city and may not subscribe to the e-mail crime alerts, he said.

Palmer said it’s also a balance the police try to strike between arming the public with information and not crying wolf.

If the police e-mail too many warnings, he said, people would just “delete, delete, delete.”

Full article here.

And I forgot about this posting on a web site from a few months ago:

As a 20 year resident of the Twin Cities, I can tell you that “Minnesota nice” is no more. The downtown areas of both Minneapolis and St. Paul are downright dangerous after normal business hours.

Formerly bustling suburbs like Robbinsdale and St. Louis Park have turned into ghettos. Malls, restaurants and shops are few and far between in downtown areas.

All of this, and I mean all of it, is caused by minorities – mostly blacks. Even the Mall of America is under assault. Go there on a Saturday afternoon and you’ll see gangs of blacks with colors flying and pant legs rolled up.

They ogle, whistle at and harass white women, even following them around. They occupy the food courts, which are a constant source of intimidation and mayhem.

Last January, some 200 blacks got into a violent chair throwing fracas at one of the food courts. It quickly spread to other areas, forcing
stores to close their gates and paying customers to flee. There was cell phone video all over the Internet, showing conclusively that the combatants were black. We’ll never know if there were any arrests made or charges filed because the print and broadcast media had little to say.

The government, the media, the police and others simply refuse to acknowledge the problem, referring instead to youths, teenagers and youngsters.

I feel badly for the young man who was beaten but you have to wonder…”What was this guy thinking?” Blacks are trouble. They are loud, vulgar, disrespectful and violent – and they get away with it because nobody will address the problem head on.

These are just some of the hundreds of examples of racial violence and lawlessness in more than 80 cities around the country as documented in my book: White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence to America.

Thomas Sowell said : ”Reading Colin Flaherty’s book made painfully clear to me that the magnitude of this problem is greater than I had discovered from my own research. He documents both the race riots and the media and political evasions in dozens of cities.” – National Review.

The Society of Professional Journalists and Black Mob Violence: Let Them Come to Indianapolis.

Links below. Preview of an article for Front Page magazine.

WhiteGirl_300x250_01Strange that the Society of Professional Journalists should wonder if its members write enough about race.

The SPJ is already one of the most race-conscious groups in America. And that is easy to see in every aspect of SPJ’s operations, including its magazine, web site, blogs, meetings, training, conventions and membership.

But race and crime? Not so much.

Abe Aamidor is wondering if that is a good idea.  Aamidor wrote a thumb sucker for SPJ’s Quill magazine called “When Race is Relevant.” It does not ask about the relationship between race and crime. Or the different crime rates among races. The numbers are overwhelming and well known already. Even to the most obstinate reporter.

Aamidor asks a different question: How much should we let people know about it? Answer: not much.

Aamidor ignores how often SPJ members already report about race. How every day, we read about the black caucuses, black colleges, black churches, black labor unions, black businesses, black neighborhoods, black leaders, black victimization at the hands of supremacy, and on and on and on.

Many of these stories are written by members of the SPJ and the National Association of Black Journalists.

But when it comes to reporting on black crime, or black mob violence, these same reporters suddenly turn color blind.

What’s a reporter to do? asked Aamidor. Aside from following a link in the main photo of his article which connects to a web site of the “Party for Socialism and Liberation,” here’s the only answer Aamidor can muster: “Working journalists may need to look no further than their own media outlet’s policies, which likely will offer guidance on how to report on race and crime.”

More of the same.

Fair enough. Let’s check Aamidor’s former paper, The Indianapolis Star, where he toiled for 22 years. The Star’s policy toward reporting race and crime can be summed up in one word: Don’t.

One hour after after I read Aamidor’s piece, I came across a Tweet about one of the more popular euphemisms for black mob violence: Large fights. This one in Indianapolis, involving 80 people with baseball bats and other weapons. Everyone was black.

The next day, the Indy Star dutifully reported some of the details of the riot. Everything except the race. The paper also dutifully reported that this kind of large scale violence had happened twice before in the last year. And dutifully gave some details. Except the race.

Dutifully ignoring the frequency and intensity of black mob violence in Indianapolis.

In the last three years, there have been dozens of episodes of racial violence in this once bucolic slice of middle America. Many  documented in White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence and how the media ignore it.

Much of it on video.

But because the participants are not carrying signs with racist slogans, or

promoting violent black revolution as some did during a recent public meeting in Indianapolis, many reporters say there is no evidence of racial violence in Indianapolis. Or anywhere else.

No matter how many videos there are. No matter how far out of proportion black mob violence is. If they do not report it, it does not exist. And if it does not exist, how can they report it?

Every discussion of racial violence in Indianapolis must begin with the Indiana Black Expo. Over the last ten years, this annual, week long celebration of racial consciousness has been the site of shootings, assaults, property destruction, violence against police, and large scale mayhem that can only be called riots.

It got so bad even the Indy Star could no longer ignore it:

“Although none of the shootings or fights was directly connected to Summer Celebration events or venues, the annual celebration of black culture that attracts more than 200,000 people Downtown during its 11-day run has been inescapably tied to the violence.”

Much of the violence is on video. You can find a more complete record of the violence at the Black Expo here.

At this year’s Expo in August, hundreds of police smothered the downtown in anticipation of more black mob violence. Especially since the Expo occurred in the week following the acquittal of George Zimmerman.

When it did not occur, some accused the police of racial profiling. Others said police prepared for and prevented  a predictable event. They wondered why an even larger event — the Indy 500 — required only a fraction of the police. And had fewer incidents.

Black mob violence is hardly limited to the Black Expo.

Downtown Indianapolis has been the site of dozens of cases of large-scale black mob violence over the last three years.  The Indy Star reports these perpetrators as “unruly teens,” or “unruly youths” or any number of other euphemisms. But the videos tell the story.

The mobs are black.

Downtown Indy is supposed to be a gleaming center of commerce and government and tourism.

Instead, downtown on weekends today often resembles an armed camp with police officers, barricades, helicopters, and an increasing number of empty storefronts from merchants who no longer wish to tolerate the black mob violence that occurs with regular and violent intensity.

Earlier this year, after constructing a Maginot Line-like wall around the downtown, black people just went to one of the suburban malls and wreaked havoc there.

That is also on video.

By July 4 of this year, even the Indy Star knew there was a problem downtown. Here’s how they described it: “a city core overrun by unsupervised teenagers who fight each other and occasionally fire weapons.”

On July 4, despite dogs and helicopters and more than 100 police officers on the street, it happened again. But if you wanted to get the real flavor of the violence from the Indy Star, skip the reporting and go directly to the comments:

James Parson posted on the IndyStar.com:

“I was downtown with my family last night, I saw the gangs roaming the streets. I will not be coming downtown ever again, nor will my family. The insults that were thrown at my family by the black gangsters were out of line. One called my wife a fat whore. Glad to se that Ballard is doing something about these killers in training. I will not be back downtown. If you value your life you will not come either. The gangs own the streets in our city.”

Mark Magers chimed in:

“I agree James! I was downtown for the fireworks with friends and the gangs were ominous and ugly. What is going on downtown? We used to take pride in presenting a safe and fun filled experience.”downtown. I too will not be back and next year will go to the Geist “blast on the bridge”. A better show and nicer group of people!”

The national headquarters of the Society of Professional Journalists is four miles from the epicenter of this racial violence. But somehow, racial violence as a regular feature of the largest black expo in America did make it into this Aamidor’s discussion.

He did however, talk about how television news directors in Pittsburgh met last year with black activists to form an agreement as to how to reduce the coverage of black crime in that city. Aamidor reports the head of Black Empowerment Project said observing crime is bad for white and black people:

“If the only information about black people is what’s in the news, there’s a reason why the unemployment rate is astronomic and why we have all these negative issues — because the imaging of black people is extremely negative,” said Black Political Empowerment Project president Tim Stevens.

“Not only does it affect the viewpoint of white people with their thoughts on black people, I say it affects the psychology of black people.”

No news whether local farmers are complaining about the weather reports.

The Indy Star might be too queasy to cover racial violence, but not not everyone ignores it. Writing in Indiana Barrister, local attorney Abdul Hakim-Shabazz, is out of patience with people who have too much patience for black pathology:

It’s time for some tough love in this town. There is a criminal element in this town that consists primarily of young black men.

The recent attacks on the Monon; the perpetrators were young black men. The “Pop It Off Boys” gang; young black men.

The most high ridden crime areas of the city, who are the bad guys?  Say it with me, they are usually young black men.

This may be painful, but the truth hurts.   … There is also something even more wrong when people will read this column and get mad at me and call me a “sellout” or an “Uncle Tom” because I was the guy who was brave enough to tell truth.

Indianapolis, you have a problem.  Your problem is young, black men who are out of control. It’s time to step up and start making examples out of people.

Decent citizens black and white should not have to live in fear of urban terrorists.

The elderly man who marched for civil rights in the 1950s and 60s should not have to live in fear because some Robin Hoodlum doesn’t know how to honor the social contract.

Young people who are trying to do the right thing, shouldn’t have to live in fear because a bunch of cast extras from a Spike Lee film don’t know how to behave.

And I shouldn’t have to write blog posts like this because young black men act like social predators and terrorize the very neighborhoods they live in.

Not coming soon to your local chapter of the apologists at the Society of Professional Journalists.

Post Script: The Society of Professional Journalists is headquartered in Indianapolis. Of the 35 people staffers and members of the board or directors, none is black.

The two cases of racial violence in New York over the last week were so graphic that even NPR and the New York Times could not ignore them.

But the largest and most influential black web sites in America did.

In the first attack, Lashawn Marten allegedly declared his hatred for white people then punched Jeffrey Babbitt in the face as he walked through a Manhattan park Wednesday afternoon. Babbitt died five days later.

Second NYC Hate Attack: Suspect In Bus Beating Sought As Jeffrey Babbitt, Victim of Earlier Race Assault, Dies

Two days after the Babbitt assault, a white man was riding a bus through Harlem when a black man confronted him, called him a cracker, and punched him in the head. The unidentified victim suffered several broken bones in his face. Police have released a photo of the suspect.

These are hardly the first cases of black on white violence in New York City. The book White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence and how the media ignore it documents dozens of such cases.

But it is unusual for the predators to announce their racial intentions so boldly. Rarer still for The Times and NPR to report them, however timidly. However briefly.

But that is more than the largest black web sites in America did. A sampling:

TheGrio is one of America’s more influential black web sites. The site is a division of MSNBC and gets its name from the term for “African story teller.”  But this place for “African American breaking news and opinion” had nothing on either hate crime.

The Grio, however, did run several recent stories about George Zimmerman, including one titled “We told you so.”  Reporters at The Grio also found time for features on “fashion racism,” and how an Oklahoma school district is banning dreadlocks.

Over at BET.com, the web site of Black Entertainment Television, the editors ran one story about George Zimmerman and his run-in with his wife, one story about “girls with grillz,” and lots of advertisements for Chicken McNuggets from McDonald’s.

But nothing on black on white violence in New York City.

The Huffington Post has a separate section for black people called  “Black Volces.” Huffpo did run stories on the hate crimes in other sections, but nothing appeared in the pages of Black Voices.

Black Voices, however, did publish a full treatment on the “Tiana Parker” controversy. Parker was sent home from an Oklahoma school this week for violating district regulation against wearing dreadlocks.  The Oklahoma Legislative Black Caucus is conducting a full investigation of the matter. No word from Black Voices when or if Oklahoma black legislators will be looking into the killing of the white Australian student Chris Lane in Oklahoma last month at the hands of two black people.

One of the alleged killers proclaimed on Twitter that “90% of white ppl are nasty. #HATE THEM.” The other had pictures on his Facebook page featuring a flag of Africa with the words “Black Power” on it.

TheRoot.com is the Washington Post’s black web site. The Post claims it is “the premier news, opinion and culture site for African-American influencers.” It was founded in 2008 by Dr. Henry Gates — Skip, to President Obama — who became even more famous for complaining about racist treatment at the hands of Cambridge police. An incident that culminated in the “beer summit” at the White House.

The Root published nothing on either alleged New York hate crime. But it did run recent stories including “Will an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) Make My Kid too Black? No, and such assumptions about these schools suggest you might be the one who needs an education.”

The Root also published excerpts from a New York Times story advising its readers on “Racial Profiling and Surviving the ‘White Gaze.’”
