Hello Mr. Flaherty, (Colin)
This is Katrina Padilla again. I just want you to know that upon reading my Word (the Bible), and having my usual intimate time with my Lord, you were pressed upon my heart, and I must tell you that my heart breaks for you and so many others like you.
Through circumstances beyond your control, you have been hurt badly and have yet to find proper consolation. Please believe me when I say how deeply sorry I am. I have been hurt numerous times by different races, and thankfully have been able to find peace and closure and have healed (though I must admit I have not forgotten), and been able to forgive those who have wronged me. This I could not have done Colin without the tenderness of a loving Creator who taught me how to gain all these things by first granting them to me for hurting Him through the multitude of sins I committed.
Colin, dear friend, this is my prayer for you. I have stopped reading your column because it breaks my heart to read the anger and bitterness your articles vent.
You’re a gifted journalist Colin. I truly believe that. But you must let go of this vigil of yours and reach out for Christ. I’m not saying you don’t believe, I don’t know you that well. But what I do know is that you truly are a sincere man who desperately wants better. You’re seeking escape in all your endeavors. When I phoned you (and please forgive such forwardness) you were off hiking in a mountain of mud promising to phone back, but didn’t because you knew in your heart where the call was leading — straight to Jesus!!
No grand adventure, no constant reporting, no overflowing amount of poisonous venom is going to heal you like Jesus! Reach out and cry to Him now Colin. We’re not promised tomorrow, and I’m afraid that if your end were today, your bitter soul would end up in the fires of hell. I don’t wish that.for you. I know someone who lived similar to you. He just met his end last week. He was found murdered in his car far from home and alone. His life, just like yours, was completely contrary to the Word of God, and in a moment, he found himself without a second chance and in hell awaiting his final judgment at the resurrection of all mankind.
I don’t want to see that happen to anyone else! And neither does God. He Word says He is longsuffering because He doesn’t wish for anyone to perish. He loves you very much Colin. And he wants to heal your wounds, but you’ve got to allow Him to. Let me encourage you to read your Bible. Start in the New Testament Book of John. Come to know Jesus and His love for you. Learn what forgiveness and life is all about. If you need or want further explanation of the Word, or just want to get prayer or talk, I’m always available. It’s all about doing God’s work as I am called.

When Jesus saw wrong, he crashed the party and flipped over tables. When Colin Flaherty saw wrong, he broke up the “knock out game”, and wrote about it to the world. I’m trying to think of a better example of a Christian, but I think you’ve won the title overwhelmingly, Mr. Flaherty. Thank you for your work, and thank you for the lives your work has saved.

let me just say that I am a Christian and pray for Colin’s safety and that he continues his work. …I don’t know ms. padilla’s race or political leanings as she doesn’t indicate that information. however, I do know how she feels about the “truth”…..and, that tells me ALL I need to know……haters of the truth hate tellers of the truth…..

“I hope you can be a good as I am someday” comes through as clear as day. In her imaginary little world, Ms Padilla is the ENLIGHTENED one. And she “prays” that you can eventually become as enlightened as her and learn to ignore truth when it doesn’t match liberal orthodoxy.
I’m confused. Where did this come from?
Does Ms. Padilla feel all journalists report on subjects because of some personal involvement or just you Mr. Flaherty?
It’s great to hear she is so concerned for you Mr. Flaherty but maybe she should have been praying, and more concerned, on the welfare of her friend who was just murdered. I’m curious why she feels God ‘called’ on her to speak and pray for you when someone else she knew was so soon to lose their life in such a violent way. Maybe she’s the one not listening.
I must also ask, are you writing special articles just for her? We can’t be reading the same ones because I don’t read, or feel, the anger or bitterness she claims to read.
Personally, I appreciate your fact based articles of the open racial based violence being perpetrated throughout America. Because of your reporting, I know which areas I need to be more alert for my safety especially because I am a non-Black.
I keep you in my prayers but not for the same reasons as Ms. Padilla. I pray for your safety from the violent thugs that don’t like the facts reported. I pray that God will keep his protective arms around you and shield you from those who hate the truth or just hate.
Please don’t let the misinformed deter you. I depend on your reporting.

Time to take off the blinders Katrina Padilla and all of those who think like her. I can’t tell you how many times I have been told I am racist, by speaking about what is really happening in our Country. Ms Padilla, GOD is TRUTH !! By denying what is real and adding his name to those thoughts of your’s is nothing short of Evil. Continued success with your work Colin. Keep keeping it real.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions…I guess it just depends on which side you’re heading. I also have to wonder if this woman ever read your column as your tone hasn’t really changed, although righteous indignation in the face of moral depravity would not be venom but hopefully some part of the antidote, if there is any.
