Letter from the in between.

Colin:

I know it about black and white crime, I am neither black nor white, but I have been robbed three times in HS…this was the nineties.

I did not report crime. I got robbed another time but these three black kids riding bikes walking home from school. They assaulted me grabbed me, but I was saved by an older white gentlemen with a bat and a dog who claimed they got him also.

What was funny is I was just a kid, there was a grow black women who completely ignored what the black kids were doing. I did not expect her to save me, just make an effort to tell her own to stop. Another time, they robbed me for money after a class in high school.

I remember their faces still;;…somethings you do not forget, being held up and threaten, claiming to have a gun, I never found out if it was true, I just gave the money. I wish for their deaths even to this day.

I was just a kid, 13 or 14. I went to a white high school also, the worse the white kids ever did was smack the books from my hand. The black kids threatened me, “Yo, look at me, I’ll f#ck you up.” I looked at him I taught. I also got punched on a bus after school for no reason. I just do not get it.

On the bright side, I survived and will NEVER give any money to any of those kids ever. I never told my parents anything as I felt they had other stuff to do rather than worry about their kid being assaulted by blacks.

I guess maybe I wanted them to believe the neighborhood is safe. I knew who did the drugs as a kid and where they smoked, but I felt older folks shouldn’t have to deal with it. I let my black “friends” know about the neighbors talked about what was going one, one of them said, “mind  your own f&cking business.

That is what I do now, any black person need money I ignore. I have lost all sympathy and patience.

xx
