Letter from a Chicago robbery.
Hi Colin,
I’m from Chicago. And was almost a victim to a robbery by 3 black guys. Here’s how it went.
I’m walking back home from a known hot dog place. One black guy across the street one hid in bushes and one walking about 12 feet behind me. When I look back for the 2nd time he was now 6 feet behind me looking at the black guy in the bushes, black guy in bushes was looking at guy across the street, yes this is how fast I noticed there were 3. I suddenly stop and turned around to this black guy with a scruff around his face. Lucky for me there was this family walking the dog right passed and I turned the direction they were walking. The black guy try to walk my way but stopped. The family seen this all. Another lucky thing when I turned the corner there was a police car, I explained what happen, they took off and caught one of the guys. I heard it on my police scanner.
Then. The following week I notice one of the guys and told him. You were there when those dudes try to robbed me. He said yea I seen you get outta that jam. My boy was hungry and needed money. Smh Mind you this all happened on a street dividing black from Latino. They watch from across the street, rob Latinos and walk right into their homes without a care. After that I thought.. This is one of the reasons gangs exist. Cause people hurt and steal from other neighborhoods and sit on there porch looking at the stuff they just stole.
