GROWING up White in Jacksonville.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, fl. I’m not going to say I lived a sheltered life, because I didn’t.
My first experience with black mob violence came to me on my first day of 3rd grade. Started 3rd grade at West Riverside Elementary, mom got sick, we had to move. My brothers and I were jumped on our way home, because we looked different. 4 of us vs 20 or more of blacks. Mind you this is the 1986. We got jumped few more times before it got better. As new black kids moved into the area they’d jump us to make a name for themselves.
I remember being snatched off my bike at 10 years old by the hair. 2 blacks decided they wanted my bike. At 11 years old I was put on a bus to attend George Washington carver 6th grade center. Fights everyday due to being white. I told everyone I trusted, no one believed me.
7th grade at John Gorrie, I believe it was a 7th 8th and 9th grade center. Again fights everyday. I remember being held back in my last class due to it being to dangerous to be dismissed. This was due to large group of blacks chasing the white kids through the Riverside area.
I lived a block and a half from the school, I was escorted home by the police. My oldest brother was working at the time, he was jumped numerous times on his way home before a manager started giving him a ride. He had to work to help support us. By this time mom is getting better thanks to chemo. My other brother had a gun pulled on him at said school few days after riot, mom moved us out of the area quickly. New school started off rough, I was suckered punch from behind. Had to go to emergency room for blown ear drum. But the new school took matters seriously, expelled the overage failure black student for good. I don’t recall too much more black mob violence happening to me after that last move. I’m still in Jacksonville, fl to this day, I don’t know why.
