The last time we saw Darrien Long in February, he was confronting an abusive and violent black mob at a downtown Atlanta shopping center.

The mob threatened, cussed, assaulted, spit, challenged and called Long every racial and sexual epithet imaginable.

Long kept his cool. Then, even as he pulled out his Taser and one of his attackers went down, a video of the confrontation went up.

And Long became a hero.

Now Long is back, with another confrontation. This time the crowd is bigger. The stakes are higher. But the outcome is the same.

Over the past few months, my e-mail inbox has been filled with the same viral video. Sent by friends, obviously shared many times over, the video depicts a lonely security guard near Underground Atlanta attempting to maintain a modicum of order so some level of commercial activity can exist at the Metro Mall.

With a video camera strapped to his chest, Darien Long has broadcast to the world the type of day-to-day tasks and demeanor necessary to provide security in what amounts to Third World conditions not far from Olympic Centennial Park.

There’s a reason the recently retired Neal Boortz lashed out that Atlanta needed a “few more dead thugs” a couple of years back, only to be excoriated by the compassionate left for doing so. When you watch Darien attempt to keep loiterers out of the Metro Mall in downtown Atlanta – in one case, having to use a taser on one woman as her three young children taunt him using foul language (warning: explicit language) – it’s only natural that you side with his version of “law and order.”

Lil Mouse is a 13-year old gangster rapper from Chicago. His lyrics are all about killing people. “I’m 4Real” features Lil Mouse and his ghetto mouseketeers talking about how they are going to kill people with a variety of guns.

Gangs signs flash. Machine fun firing simulated. Ambulances roll. Violence is everywhere. And that is just in the first 50 seconds.

Then it gets into dealing drugs. More murder. Snitching. Robbery. And that was just in the next minute.

So it is easy to understand how some of his fans were concerned for his safety when a party for his new rap video got out of hand earlier this week.

Never happened.

Then he said Osama spent the next three years in a floating version of Gitmo on a nuclear submarine.

Then he escaped and took control of the boat. All with the help of Moslem crew members who were put there as part of a Moslem affirmative action plan at the Pentagon.

You know that could never happen.

And then Bin Laden does all this crazy stuff with the submarine, wreaking havoc on the world economy.

Stupid.

All aided and abetted by a complicit and trivial media at CNN?

You know that’s not true either.

All while The President ignores and denies the danger from Moslem terrorists led by you know who?

That’s just crazy talk!

All culminating in a race to stop Bin Laden before he bombs the crap out of Las Vegas on New Year’s eve?
