Archives For Lynchburg

Read it now.

Letter from a parent.

Colin,

All 3 of my kids age 24, 22, and 20 have been waiters at Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and O’Charley’s restaurants since 2008 here in Lynchburg, VA. My wife and I were also waiters in college.

It is a known fact that the majority of black patrons don’t give a decent tip (15-20%), many times they stiff the wait staff, whether the waiter is black or white, even if there are not food or service issues. There is almost always an issue with the food, its cold, a hair from their weave is in the food, …

The black waiters tell the hostess not to seat black patrons in their section, because they know they will most likely not get tipped.

If a server sends food back to the kitchen because of an alleged problem, the cooks who are mostly black people, will state that “I know it was a N_______ that sent the food back. What a sad reality.

Thankfully my kids have not encountered any violence, YET! I tell them to expect it to happen.

Keep up the good work! Sorry for the long message.

xx
