Colin:

Frederick, MD, is about an hour’s drive northwest of DC, beyond liberal Montgomery County. It’s nicknamed “Fredneck” because it’s largely white, conservative and rural. So you aren’t likely to find black mob violence in such a place – or will you?

This was in the Saturday edition of the local paper, the Frederick News-Post:

Street brawl leads to three arrests in Frederick

Frederick police charged a man and two women with assault after officers had to step in to break up a fight in the streets.

Teakea Sharia Queen, 21, of Walkersville, and Domonique Elizabeth Trent, 22, of Hagerstown, were charged with second-degree assault, failure to obey a police officer and resisting arrest after city officers broke up a fight at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, according to charging documents filed in Frederick County District Court. The women were screaming and attacking each other when the officers spotted them walking in a large, unruly crowd in the 300 block of North Market Street, the documents state.

As they were running forward to break up the fight, one of the officers saw Jajun Malik Pearson, 22, dart into the fray and punch Trent in the face, the documents state. During the struggle, Queen punched one of the officers in the eye, and Trent shoved the same officer, according to the documents.

Pearson was charged with second-degree assault and failure to obey a police officer. Pearson, Trent and Queen were released after signing a written promise to appear in court, according to online court records.

The race of the perps isn’t mentioned but their names leave no doubt. Some of this will sound familiar. It was 1:20 a.m., there was “a large, unruly crowd” and only three people were arrested.

Like just about any city, Frederick has a black part of town that is full of crime, violence, drugs, etc., and even the Fredneck News-Post doesn’t dare provide a better description of the perps of the size of the mob.
