mr. flaherty i contacted NPR using the form on their websight. suggested having you on as a guest. there was an extensive drop down menu of all their shows. i had to choose the program to contact. i chose “all things considered” is there any other one i could contact in addition? we might as well have our bases covered.

I lived in South Minneapolis for over 25 years, finally my neighborhood got so bad we moved to a St. Paul suburb where there are few blacks, now we don’t hear gunfire and sirens all the time. North Minneapolis is a hell hole, and has been since the late 1960’s, any white person who choses to live there is risking their lives. As to be expected, the original Minneapolis Star-Tribune article did not identify the race of the perp and victim, but the victims last name sounds very Swedish, and given the area, it was a safe bet that the perp was black. I see that the updated version does have the pictures of both vic and perp. The Star-Tribune has, like most papers, a policy of not identifying race in crime stories “unless it is pertinent” to the story, and whenever it is black on white crime, the Star-Tribune makes the determination that race is not pertinent.
