I am a White guy that went to a Black school, and my experiences were exactly as you described. I was constantly threatened and harassed. I got in fights all the time. It was made very clear to me that no one liked me.
I lived in a Black neighborhood, too, so it didn’t end after school. I managed to make it in that environment only by constantly being in fights. Whenever possible, they would jump me – one on one fights didn’t tend to go well for them because I was taking martial arts.
My childhood was hell, and when I grew up I moved away from that city as soon as I could afford it. Thinking back on it, I realize it affected me in many ways, and is probably the reason I have interpersonal issues to this.

I went to a school in the mid 70’s that was forcibly integrated. For the first 3 months I was beaten on an almost daily basis, I begged my parents not to send me back, they ignored me, by the time the school year ended, I had been treated for broken ribs, broken fingers had surgery on my toes after being crushed and was beaten so badly one time I woke up a day later in a hospital.
I thank God every day that my father was transferred out of state because I was about to enter high school and probably would not have survived. For the past 40 years I have avoided blacks like the plague, not because I’m racist, but because of the emotional scars that are still with me today. As an 8th grader I was 5′ 8″ and 80 pounds, we had just moved to the area so I didn’t know anyone and had no friends.
I was a prime soft target for blacks. My 8th grade year traumatized me so badly, I spent the next decade working out and learning how to protect myself so I would never be helpless again.
