Letter from a night with Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in Providence.

Hi Colin,

Last night there was a performance of “The Bodyguard”, based on the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner movie at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

There was a group of black people yelling and singing and dancing, you know, as if they were in their living room, and not among 3500 other paying customers.

Security moved the couple next to them to better seats believe it or not. No thoughts, I guess, to tell these people to pipe down.

So after the show the black people spot the couple that moved in the lobby…and ATTACKED them.

There was a brawl in the lobby of this beautiful venue where 95% of the time it’s white folks in attendance. But throw some black folks in the mix, and , well, you know what happens.

And of course no news coverage on it.

xx
