Letter from another reader who believes that observing racial violence is the same as causing racial violence.

This will be the last email that I send.

I am so disappointed that a white person, who has a strong voice and following is doing nothing but stirring up the pot of hatred. The last email that I sent to you asked you if you thought that you were helping the issue of violence or causing more harm.

I received your answer and hoped that it would be more than just a comment of, I am the fireman and not the arsonist.

How so? Every article that you place on your website is generalizing black people  as mob attackers and criminals.

This doesn’t help the issue of violence because many of your followers are already afraid or prejudice against us anyway. You think that you are helping to bring awareness to an issue by complaing that the plauge of viloence agains white America is not getting enough recognition in the media.

I have a question sir, how long did we have to deal with the plauge of violence against us, and I am not talking about the civil rights movements that received media air time. I am talking about the race wars that I experienced in high school in 1998 in Wisconsin!

I am talking about the nights I was pulled over by an officer who asked me what was I doing in a certain neighborhood. That did not get any air time either. Am I walking around bitter at staking claims that all white people are corrupt and prejudice, no.

You are painting a picture that is going to cause some people to act out of unnecessary fear and anger. You say you are not the arsonist but I see you holding the match. Would you be having this same affection to your movement if it were white on black violence, or asian on indian violence probably not because your problem is with black people period.

Sir, you fit the mold of those same prejudice people I had to protect myself from in high school. I thought you made good points and were enlightened but I see you have just joined the lowest class race of people on this planet, the ignorant.

I hope that a black man helps you the next time you have a flat tire lol. Maybe that will ease your tension.

It is obvious that the truth hurts, and the hurt has caused this person to lash out at the teller of truth.

So Mr./Ms. letter writer, where is all the white on black violence Colin’s writing has inspired?? No where to be found. He is just exposing the media’s coverup. Race relations will never progress until some HONESTY injected into the debate and that is all Colin is doing.

blank Old Hickory says:

Like a lot of other people out there the author of that letter is dealing with terrible cognitive dissonance. He or she has been brainwashed and propagandized for a lifetime with the white oppressor-black victim meme. Biased media coverage supports that lie by omission. When a belief as deeply embedded a religious faith is challenged with the truth, denial and a desire to kill the messenger are frequent responses.

I noticed the multiple straw-man responses and had to laugh. It was so important for the author to discredit you in his own mind he simply made things up so he can shut out that nagging voice of truth. He accuses you of “generalizing” when you are merely reporting a pattern of documented incidents. He next tries to bring in the irrelevant by painting himself as a victim because a cop pulled him over years ago.

Keep up the good work Colin. When people twist themselves into pretzels to deny the truth, you know you’ve hit a nerve. When they try to silence you, you know that the truth is causing their worldview based on lies to crumble and they’re lashing out to stop it.

Whew! what great and smart and on-point responses. Want some good news: there are a lot of us out there.
